I hope you don't take this the wrong way but I was wondering why you have a ship tag for Joffrey/Sansa? I never met anyone who shipped them before.

laughs!!! darling, i don’t ship them, i’m sorry to say. and it’s okay, i appreciate you being polite when asking this.

tl;dr no i dont ship them but im not discounting their dynamics as part of her character growth either.

i suppose as a preface, i have to explain that my relationship tags are not exclusively for ships that i ship. they’re basically non-familial dynamics/relationships that have in some ways defined sansa, or colored her perspective. joffrey/sansa tag is quite– unique in a way that it is more a cautionary tale. like the tag is used as a reminder? of how you constantly have to look beneath the surface, that you cannot be too trusting and taken and that not all princes and kings are kind.

nothing in that tag really focuses on any sort of love between them more so on her regret for believing him. in some ways that tag is really more focused on sansa’s character growth.

i think the joffrey/sansa relationship and subsequent lack thereof is important to focus on because it’s her first. its the first time she really truly believed in the ideals and yet– we see ultimately, the destruction of those ideals. so yeah, it’s important even in the books when she talks about how she believed in all of these wonderful things until joffrey beheads her father.

caveat: in no way am i ship shaming??? like maybe out there there are people who…. finds some way to redeem this relationship and maybe they have a valid point and thats great for them! but i’m not one of those people and thats okay too.
