The folk in the town and countryside alike still sing of it, of the day the Targaryen queen, mother of dragons, daughter of dragons, sailed in upon the back of her massive beast and burned all who opposed her, of the day the wolf-queen, queen in the north, the last Stark in Westeros, came out to meet her. Accounts of how wolf and dragon both refused to kneel vary, but the kingdoms soon found themself bending the knee to a queen of fire and a queen of ice.
And the folk whisper as well, in voices softer than soft, that the two queen’s alliance was formed on more than mutual esteem, that a passion that burned hotter than dragonfire and colder than winter brought them together, and that in the moment Sansa and Daenerys met, the Queen in the North found that she could burn and the Queen in the South learned that she could shiver.
